The Rev. Fr. Lowell E. Andrews, Rector welcomes you to the Holy Nativity Catholic parish in the beautiful Rim Country of Arizona and the growing community of Payson.
Holy Nativity is in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church under the apostolic constitution Anglicanorum Coetibus of Pope Benedict XVI. This new Ordinariate was set up and established on January 1, 2012 in the United States.
The Ordinariate seeks to be genuinely open to the leading of the Holy Spirit and the wise direction of the Holy See, as groups of Anglicans bring their distinctive gifts and aspirations of this new work. What constitutes the liturgical, spiritual and pastoral patrimony of Anglicanism is as rich and diverse as the cultures of the people who have been nourished within the noble tradition. The Ordinariate will strive to maintain this comprehensiveness, firmly grounded in the Catholic Faith, in the spirit of St. Paul’s charge to build up the Church in Corinthians 12.
The Catholic Church of Holy Nativity building, parish hall and meeting hall are located on two and half acres with a large parking lot in North East Payson in the Alpine Heights area, an area of middle and upper middle-class homes. The Church was established in 1974 to meet the needs of those seeking a Catholic community outside of the Latin Rite Catholics and those of the Communion of Canterbury.
If you do not have a church home, we encourage you to join us in this community of the Catholic Faith in the Anglican tradition. We are far from perfect, but we believe as our Lord Jesus Christ taught (John: 17) that we should be one.
